The Miami Dolphins will shut down QB Tua Tagovailoa and bring in rookie Quinn Ewers in a sure sign they have lost hope that Tua will ever reach the potential they saw in him when they drafted him. While the Dolphins could be forgiven for the draft pick, the real mistake was signing him to a huge contract that will stay on their ledger even as Tua sits on the bench.
Doug Gottlieb: “This is all of the Dolphins saying, ‘We were wrong.’ But the mistake wasn’t in drafting Tua (Tagovailoa) if you evaluated him as the best prospect, the mistake was in doubling down and the contract extension.”
