Vehicle Crashes Into Dauphin County Business

Authorities in Dauphin County are investigating an incident where a vehicle crashed into the Huntington Learning Center in Lower Paxton Township early Tuesday morning (December 16). According to the Lower Paxton Township Bureau of Police, the crash occurred around 3:25 a.m. when a blue Nissan Rogue slammed into the front lobby of the education facility located at 5094 Jonestown Road.

The driver fled the scene, leaving the vehicle and the building unoccupied. Later, at approximately 7:35 a.m., police received a call from the Colonial Park United Church of Christ, less than a mile away, about an unknown man inside the church. Officers arrived and confirmed the man's identity, linking him to the earlier crash. The driver was found unharmed, but no arrests have been made as the investigation continues.

Jay Murray, co-owner of the Huntington Learning Center, described the damage as extensive, affecting both the interior and exterior of the building. The center estimates nearly $100,000 in repairs and plans to hold a grand reopening soon. In the meantime, students will continue their education virtually while cleanup efforts are underway.

Police urge anyone with information about the incident to contact the Lower Paxton Township Bureau of Police at 717-558-6900 or submit an anonymous tip online. More details can be found in the Crimewatch PA report
