  • 92-Year-Old Grandmother Wins "Tekken 8" Video Game Tournament (REAL

A 92-year-old woman in Japan just proved you're never too old to game. Hisako Sakai won a "Tekken 8" video game tournament put on by the Care eSports Association, a group that holds gaming events for senior citizens. The tournament in November featured eight players, with the oldest being 95 years old. Sakai beat out 74-year-old Goro Sugiyama in the finals while playing as a character named Claudio. The whole event was streamed live with commentators, just like pro gaming events. Care has been holding tournaments since 2019 to help older people stay active and sharp. The group started with board games but added "Tekken 8" earlier this year. They hold events twice a year across three areas in Japan. No word on if grandma told her opponent to “get gud” after winning.
