(Miami, FL) - The 10th ranked University of Miami Hurricanes took down seventh-seeded Texas A-and-M 10-3 in the first round of the College Football Playoff at College Station.

Head Coach Mario Cristobal on the big win, "I think it was important, first, to get in the playoff. Then to go and win at a place like this, right, 100 plus thousand people, on the road, a team that was arguably top 2 or 3 until their last game, and to get it done in this type of environment, we needed that."

The Hurricanes are now set to battle #2 Ohio State in the Cotton Bowl from Arlington on December 31st.

The battle with "The" the biggest game for the "U" since winning their fifth national championship in 2002.

Ohio State was idle over the weekend, waiting for the outcome of the first round of playoffs.

Now, the Canes and the Buckeyes travel to Arlington, Texas for the Cotton Bowl Classic to decide one of four semifinalists.

“Here we are with a chance to keep playing, and that’s all that matters now,” said Cristobal. “1-0.”

The Buckeyes are -9.5-point favorites against the Hurricanes.
