(Des Moines, IA) -- Several residential streets in Des Moines will soon get speed bumps to reduce speeding and prevent crashes.
The Des Moines City Council has approved 39 new speed humps, including five on Cottage Grove Avenue and nine on Williams Street and East 42nd Street.
The citywide traffic-calming improvements will also include curb extensions, upgraded signage, and the removal of some street parking.
