Eggnog: Love It or Hate It? Your State Has Spoken
Eggnog is the cranberry sauce of December—except it comes with booze. It’s one of those holiday traditions that sparks strong opinions. Some people stock up early, others won’t touch it. So who’s buying it?
Instacart dug into last year’s holiday sales and ranked the states that love eggnog the most—and the ones that can’t stand it.
States That Love Eggnog
New Hampshire tops the list, followed by Vermont. Alaska, Maine, Oregon, Wyoming, Utah, Washington, Wisconsin, and New Mexico round out the top ten.
States That Hate Eggnog
Florida takes the crown for eggnog haters. Maybe the warm weather doesn’t mix with creamy drinks? Hawaii isn’t a fan either. Other states on the “no thanks” list include New Jersey, Michigan, Oklahoma, Texas, Pennsylvania, Illinois, Louisiana, and California.
Other Holiday Favorites
Eggnog isn’t the only thing flying off shelves. Rich cuts of meat like ribeye roasts, prime rib, and tenderloin are big sellers. So are fruitcake, gingerbread cookies, and—no surprise—antacids for the aftermath.
