A winter weather advisory is in effect for Onondaga, Madison, and Oneida counties in Central New York, warning of slippery conditions due to snow and mixed precipitation. The advisory will remain until seven a.m. on Wednesday (December 24). According to the National Weather Service, the region can expect two to five inches of snow, which may create hazardous travel conditions, particularly during peak commute times.
Motorists are advised to drive cautiously, allowing extra time for travel and keeping a safe distance from snowplows. The snow is expected to be steadiest from late morning to early afternoon, with temperatures reaching the mid-30s. Overnight, snow showers will continue, with lows near 30 degrees.
The weather is forecasted to be cloudy but generally dry on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, with highs in the low 30s. However, snow is expected to return on Friday, bringing colder and windier conditions. For the latest updates and road conditions, tune to NewsRadio 570 WSYR.
