According to a new report from The New York Times, the Houston area actually leads the entire nation in “at-large” ICE arrests, with over 5,000 arrests between January 20 and October 15 of this year.
This isn’t really surprising when you realize how appealing Houston is to illegal aliens. Jared Woodfill with Conservative Republicans of Texas explained: “Look at how large it is, the proximity to the border, and the fact that we have a huge port. It’s just real easy for folks to blend in and think that they won’t be caught.”
Woodfill went on to say that despite the left-wing outrage about the work ICE is doing here in the nation’s fourth-largest city, it’s actually great news. According to Woodfill, these ICE arrests should result in everything from crime falling in the city to even our infamously terrible traffic lightening up.
He closed by saying: “We now have a president who’s enforcing the law—and thank God that that enforcement is having serious and positive consequences in the Houston area.”
