Palm Beach, FL - President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy met in Florida for high level talks as diplomatic efforts to end the war between Russia and Ukraine showed renewed momentum.

The meeting took place at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort and came as the conflict approaches its fourth year, with heavy fighting continuing despite ongoing international mediation.

Trump said the discussions focused on moving closer to a negotiated settlement and described the talks as constructive, while acknowledging that significant obstacles remain.

Zelenskyy said progress is being made on a proposed peace framework that includes multiple points addressing security guarantees for Ukraine, future defense cooperation, and steps toward ending hostilities.

Ukrainian officials have consistently stated that any agreement must protect the country’s sovereignty and provide lasting security assurances, particularly in light of Russia’s previous actions.

Trump told reporters that both Zelenskyy and Russian President Vladimir Putin want the war to end, adding that he plans to continue discussions with global leaders in an effort to push negotiations forward.

He noted that conversations with European allies are ongoing as part of a broader diplomatic push.

The meeting followed recent Russian missile and drone attacks across Ukraine that caused civilian deaths and damage to infrastructure, underscoring the urgency of peace talks.

Despite diplomatic activity, there has been no ceasefire announced, and fighting continues on multiple fronts.

Ukrainian officials maintain that territorial concessions remain a key unresolved issue, particularly regarding areas occupied by Russian forces.

International observers say any agreement would likely require extensive negotiations and international involvement to enforce and sustain peace.
