Granddaughter of the Late President John F. Kennedy Has Died Age 35

The granddaughter of the late President John F. Kennedy has died at age 35, leaving behind a year-and-a-half-old baby daughter, an older son and her husband, George Moran.

The daughter of Caroline Kennedy Schlossberg and Edwin Schlossberg, Katiana Schlossberg was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia in May 2024 at the age of 34.

She was diagnosed in May of last year just after she had her second child, and has tried unsuccessfully to fight the form of cancer using chemotherapy, bone marrow transplants, and clinical trials for a new kind of immunotherapy.

She revealed her medical diagnosis in an essay last month that appeared in The New Yorker magazine, and was a climate change and the environment reporter for The New York Times.

Tatiana was the cousin of Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., of whom she has been critical for straying from the Democratic Party orthodoxy with his work as founder of Children's Health Defense.

In the New Yorker, she wrote, "For my whole life, I have tried to be good, to be a good student and a good sister and a good daughter, and to protect my mother and never make her upset or angry. Now I have added a new tragedy to her life, to our family's life, and there's nothing I can do to stop it."

Katiana Schlossberg's grandfather, President John F. Kennedy, was killed by an assassin on November 22nd, 1963, leaving his widow Jackie and their two children, Caroline, Schlossberg's mother, and son John F. Kennedy Jr., who was killed in a plane accident July 16th, 1999 along with his wife Carolyn and her sister.
