The body of four-year-old Johnathan Everett Boley, who had been missing since New Year's Eve, was found on Friday (January 2) in Walker County, Alabama. According to the Walker County Sheriff’s Office, Johnathan was located about two miles from his father's home, with his dog, Buck, found alive by his side.

Johnathan was last seen around 11:30 a.m. on December 31, wearing a yellow Mickey Mouse shirt, black pants, and Paw Patrol shoes. He was reported missing about an hour later while visiting his father, Jameson Kyle Boley, in the Manchester community. The search for Johnathan involved multiple agencies, including the FBI, and covered approximately 500 acres. Over 100 volunteers joined law enforcement in the search efforts.

During the investigation, authorities discovered several explosive devices at the father's residence. Jameson Kyle Boley was charged with unlawful manufacturing of a destructive device and two counts of chemical endangerment of a child. However, these charges are unrelated to Johnathan's disappearance. Sheriff Nick Smith stated that the explosives hindered the search efforts, as civilians were asked to refrain from searching near the property.

Johnathan's parents are separated, and he lived with his mother in Florida. She traveled to Alabama to assist with the search and has cooperated with authorities. The community was urged to remain vigilant and check their properties for any signs of the missing child during the search.

The Walker County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding Johnathan's disappearance and subsequent discovery. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Walker County Sheriff’s Office at 205-384-7218.
