Roadway detours are being put in place as part of the Harwich sewer installation project.
Starting today, through traffic traveling south on Route 39 towards East Harwich, will be detoured onto Freemans Way to Route 137.
The roadwork is taking place on Route 39 just north of Pleasant Bay Road and drivers who need to access any of the neighborhoods in Brewster will be able to do so. For drivers returning to Brewster from Harwich, there will be a detour at Pleasant Bay Road.
The detours will be in effect on weekdays from 7 a.m. until 4 p.m. and they are expected to be in place for several months.
