A Baton Rouge convenience store is ordered to close down for five years after a judge declared the place a nuisance.

District Attorney Hillar Moore had filed a petition referring to hundreds of police calls related to violence and drug dealing at the AM Mart on Highland Road.

Moore said the store has been a serious threat to public safety for years, even though it's across the street from the 2nd District Police Department.

In response to Moore's petition, Judge Louise Hines ordered the closure on Tuesday.
