Lend a Helping Can raises money for 12 New England charitable agencies to feed the Needy and Homeless.

 

Woman hit and killed by City bus

A tragic incident occurred early Thursday (January 8) morning in Grand Rapids, when a Rapid public transit bus struck and killed an adult woman. The incident took place around 6:30 a.m. at the intersection of South Division Avenue and Buckley Street SE. According to preliminary information, the woman was lying in the roadway before being hit by the bus. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Grand Rapids Police Department (GRPD) Traffic Unit is currently investigating the incident, and details may change as the investigation progresses. South Division Avenue remains closed between Logan Street SE and Buckley Street SE while investigators work at the scene.
