A potential disaster was narrowly averted this week after a United Airlines Boeing 787 Dreamliner performed a high-speed rejected takeoff (RTO). The emergency maneuver was triggered when another United aircraft, an A321neo, crossed the active runway during the Dreamliner’s departure roll. Air Traffic Control (ATC) intervened instantly, canceling the 787's clearance while ordering the A321neo to clear the area. The 787 suffered overheated brakes due to the intense braking force, leading to an eight-hour delay. An FAA investigation is expected.
