Peter Frampton is cranking on all cylinders again with a brand-new album Carry the Light, out on May 15th. The rock ‘n roll legend recruited several big stars to join him on his first album of new music in 16 years.

Sheryl Crow adds lift to “Breaking the Mold,” Bill Evans brings his sax to “Can You Take Me There” and “Tinderbox,” Tom Morello helps out with “Lions at the Gate,” and Graham Nash slips in his legendary harmonies on “I’m Sorry Elle.” The album’s first single, “Buried Treasure,” features Benmont Tench of Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers—and the entire track is a tribute to Tom himself. The song’s lyrics are cleverly constructed from the titles of his own songs.

Frampton says Carry the Light is one of his most enjoyable projects ever, thanks in part to writing and producing alongside his son Julian for the first time. It’s also Frampton’s first release since 2021’s Frampton Forgets the Words, and his return to all‑original material since 2010’s Thank You Mr. Churchill.
