BRAINTREE, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — Time is running out for the procrastinating holiday shopper.
With Christmas just a few days away, some shoppers still haven't purchased gifts for their loved ones.
"Every year, I say to myself I should be better. However, here I am, year after year," one shopper said.
According to the National Retail Federation, over 150 million consumers wait until the final days to finish their Christmas shopping. Consumers typically make a little over half of their purchases during early December, while 33% of procrastinators cite indecision about gift options.
"It takes me that long to figure out what people like, and want, and need," one person on the South Shore said.

While 25% of shoppers say they had other financial priorities, 23% say it's hard because they are still waiting on their friends and family to tell them what they want.
"My wife, because she's someone that says I don't need anything. I don't need anything. If I go there without anything, if there's nothing under the tree for her, they'll be all hell to pay," one man said.
Even with a variety of sales and incentives to get shoppers in early, some still wait until the last minute.
"I'm usually a Christmas Eve sort of a guy," another man said.
As shoppers continue to wait until the last minute to finish their Christmas shopping for no shortage of reasons, 46% plan on completing their shopping online, while 33% will visit department stores, and 26% will look for deals at discount stores.
