BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Massachusetts Senator Elizabeth Warren secures a third term.

Warren’s victory was certainly no surprise, with polling ahead of Election Day showing a clear advantage over Republican nominee John Deaton.

The race was called at 8:11 PM with 66.7 percent of votes counted. Deaton conceded the election from his campaign watch party at Boston’s Nash Bar and Stage.

Warren became the first woman to represent Massachusetts in the Senate in 2012 when she defeated former Republican Senator Scott Brown. She secured a second term in 2018 with a resounding victory over Republican Geoff Diehl.

She currently serves as Vice Chair of the Senate Democratic Caucus alongside Virginia Senator Mark Warner. Warren also ran for president in 2020, but ultimately dropped out before President Joe Biden secured the Democratic nomination.

Warren will serve through 2030 when her seat is up for election once again. The other seat, held by Democrat Senator Ed Markey, is up for grabs in the 2026 Election.
