CAMBRIDGE, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — Ice cream lovers braved the cold for the grand opening of Jamie's Ice Cream Co. in Cambridge Friday.
"It’s really nice to see," owner Jamie Siracusa told WBZ NewsRadio. "I was a little nervous that we were opening in the winter."
The new shop at 88 Kirkland St. is the second Jamie's location after the original spot on Station Street in Brookline.

"We started making ice cream in a really small machine out of Brookline," owner Jamie Siracusa told WBZ NewsRadio. "A few years later, we opened our first shop in Brookline, which is still a window to this day."
As if flavors like milk dunked cookie, banana pudding, and blueberry pie weren't enticing enough to draw a crowd, five-cent scoops on opening day surely were.
"We were going to do one-dollar scoops, but then I went to the Museum of Ice Cream last weekend, and they said in the 1950s, scoops were five cents, and we were like, 'That would be cute to have a little jar,'" Siracusa said.
Jamie's in Cambridge is open seven days a week from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.
