NEEDHAM, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — Early in-person voting in Massachusetts began Saturday.
Voting booths at Needham Town Hall opened at 9 a.m. Dozens of residents showed up bright and early to cast their votes for the 2024 presidential election.
“I knew it was going to be a very challenging race,” Michael, a local resident, told WBZ NewsRadio. “I’m not surprised by the rhetoric, I’m just going to be glad when it’s all over.”
Secretary of the Commonwealth William Glavin is in charge of overseeing voting in Massachusetts. Galvin said it has never been easier to cast a vote.
“We have vote by mail, we have vote in-person early, [and] we have thirteen hours on election-day voting,” he told WBZ NewsRadio. “… even if you think your vote doesn’t count, it does.”

First-time voter Rory said she’s glad she was able to cast her vote in person before she heads back to school.
“It’s really exciting to make my voice heard and finally get to vote,” she said.
Galvin said more than 400,000 Massachusetts voters had already cast their ballot by mail as of Saturday. Galvin said the Elections Division is expecting this year's voter turnout to break the state's previous record.
