BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Boston Mayor Michelle Wu announced Boston Family Days, an expansion of the City's BPS Sundays pilot program, Wednesday.
BPS Sundays ran from February to August, giving all BPS students and up to three family members free admission to six Boston institutions on the first and second Sundays of each month: the Boston Children’s Museum, the Franklin Park Zoo, the Institute of Contemporary Art, the Museum of Fine Arts, the Museum of Science, and the New England Aquarium.

According to the City of Boston, more than 44,000 students and family members took advantage of BPS Sundays.
The Boston Family Days expansion opens the program to all students living in Boston enrolled in grades K-12 and Pre-K and up to two family members.
"After all of these many months of understanding, measuring, tweaking, and working with our institutions, we are so excited today to be able to finally open the doors for more of our families," Wu said during her announcement at the Museum of Science.
Starting in January 2025 until December 2026, students and families will get free access on the first two Sundays of each month to the previous six institutions, along with three new ones: the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum, the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum, and the Museum of African American History.
Students and families who want to take part in Boston Family Days must sign up directly with the City, Mayor Wu's office said. The enrollment program will launch later this month.
Children currently enrolled in Boston Public Schools or Boston Pre-K will be automatically enrolled in Boston Family Days.
