Woman In Roxbury Dog Attack Dies From Her Injuries, Boston Police Say

BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) A dog attack in Roxbury on Monday has left one woman dead and three people, including two police officers, in the hospital.

Boston Police said the attack happened around 4:30 p.m. in a home on Dennison Street.

The woman was sent to the hospital with life-threatening injuries Monday and was pronounced dead Tuesday morning.

WBZ-TV reports that the woman and her husband, who was also bitten, were the owners of the dog.

The dog bit the woman, and her husband jumped in to save her, according to WBZ-TV. Both owners were injured in the incident.

According to witnesses, responding officers attempted to enter the home, but the dog attacked the officers once the gate was opened. The police then fired at the dog.

The husband and the two officers are expected to survive their injuries.

Police have not released the breed of the dog at this time.
