The Ratings Are The King of the Night!
We all have that one friend or person in the work place who has said this line: "I don't watch/like Game of Thrones". Well, they are so missing out! Sunday's premier was watched by over 17 million people. Seventeen MILLION! PLUS! HBO is not available in all homes, so even on fewer TV's and subscribers it broke records of being one of the most watched episodes in TV history. This was just episode one. There are still five to go....
And this was a nice surprise! Episode three, set to air on April 28th, was extended from a 60 minute episode....to 82 minutes. That's an extra 22 amazing minutes and currently the longest running episode of the season. Where did they get that extra 22? Are more episodes lengths going to change? STOP PLAYING WITH OUR EMOTIONS HBO!
Hellboy's Reviews Are....From Hell
Ah hell...maybe instead of rebooting this franchise they should have gone with Hell Boy 3 instead. That was the plan! I would have enjoyed a follow up to The Golden Army. Ok, don't let the rating you see in this tweet deceive you, it has actually gone up since last week, but it's still pretty rough. This is a another flop for Lionsgate. When will they learn.
It's Looking Dark For The X-Men
Anyone excited for this film? Anyone? Bueller...bueller? I want to be excited for this like I was for First Class and Days of Futures Past. However, for this movie...not so much. I think it had something to do with the first trailer we saw. It gave us the vibe this was just going to be a remake of X-Men: The Last Stand and we just want to forget that movie was every made. Now that they are taking another swing at it and things do not look so great. So like any fan of this franchise would ask....why is this happening? Again! I'll answer that in the next issue of the Geek Freak of the Week: Podcast. Expect that Monday morning! Until then...here's the latest trailer:
At least we have this to look forward to.
We all said the magic word several times...buuuuuut instead of getting superpowers and joining the Shazam Super Family, we are getting a sequel instead! Hey, that's a fair trade. Right now it's just in the works, no release date as of yet.
Swinging Into Theaters Early
Now everyone will have something awesome to discuss at this years big fourth of July cookout. Spider-Man: Far From Home's release date has been moved up a few days, originally set for July 5th, our favorite wall crawler's next movie will now be out on Tuesday, July 2nd. This is so they Marvel and Sony can get early start on the big holiday weekend box office.
Let's be honest, the real reason is due to the fact both studios knew everyone would be watching the next season of Stranger Things and wanted to give everyone enough time to geek out over everything. Right?
So next week at this time, Avengers: Endgame will be out. Who's ready?! I'm staying away from all theories, spoilers, new TV spots and trailers because I don't want this one ruined in any way shape or form! So don't expect anything posted here about that. Also...don't forget to check out the Geek Freak of the Week: Podcast on iHeart Radio app, iTunes, Spreaker, and anywhere else you get your favorite podcasts from (like mine...duh) New issue will be out this Monday!
Until next week! I'm Maz and that's your Geek Freak of the Week! (still brought to you by no one, I had someone in line but then due to Thanos' snap I lost the client...)
