Will Someone Wake Thor Up? The Geek Freak of the Week Is Here!

As we start off this weeks Geek Freak, it seems Marvel is trying to take control of our brains yet again and change the name we have all dubbed the look of Thor in Avengers: Endgame .

Instead of "Fat-Thor" his title is "Bro-Thor". Like it, hate it? Guess "Sad Thor" didn't test well. I don't think this new name is going to stick. Sorry Marvel, the internet and the fan army you have grown has dubbed him "Fat Thor" and that is what will remain.

Now...time to dive into the other stories that have flooded the internet this past week:

The Ultimate Battle of the Titans!

Titans...all of you. GO! Teen Titans GO! Vs. Teen Titans is finally coming into our lives. We heard about this little mash up a while ago, but instead of it being a multi part episode on Cartoon Network it's getting released on Blu-ray and DVD.

At the end of Teen Titans Go To The Movies there was a post-credit scene that showed the Teen Titans (from the 2003 series) saying "we think we found a way back"

The original Teen Titans series aired on Cartoon Network from 2003-2006. After it's cancellation, fans tried anything to get it back. What did the suits are Cartoon Network do? They redesigned it for a younger audience, brought back the original voice cast and created a new show, Teen Titans Go!. Yes, it says it's for a "younger" audience but the old fans of the show are watching it and there is plenty of adult humor.

When will this be out? No word yet...but when it does, you'll know because you'll hear me scream with joy.

The Next Storm?

Dan Slott, writer for the Fantastic Four comic series at Marvel has suggested KJ Apa aka Archie Andrews from Riverdale to play Johnny Storm/The Human Torch in the MCU . I'll give you a moment to absorb that information. So...let's sit down and talk about this one.

Dan Slott suggested that Keanu Reeves should be in the MCU and then reports surfaced that he is in talks with Marvel Studios for a part in phase four. Is this writer the magic-maker when it comes to this kind of stuff? Will it happen? Could KJ work in the MCU? Do you see him as Johnny Storm?

KJ is young so that means he can stay in the the next phase of the MCU for a while which is critical for these movies. Another thing that makes him a good candidate (in the eyes of Marvel) is his role on Riverdale. People already know who he is, and that brings an audience. Marvel Studios has stated that they have no current plans for a Fantastic Four reboot anytime soon so this could just be wishful thinking or another chance to see how much pull Dan Slott has over at Marvel.

The Office Is Closing

This scene comes to mind

That's right fellow bingers...in 2021 The Office is leaving Netflix. The common questions on the internet are as such: But....why?! Where will it go?

(in Dwight voice) Answer: NBC is joining the club and starting their own streaming service.

Alright, better get caught up NOW!

Oh...you should probably go catch up on Parks and Rec as well. I'm sure they will steal that next.

Enter the Spider-Verse!

At least you have this...The Oscar winning Spider-Man:Into the Spider-verse is now on Netflix! This was made by Sony, not Disney, so chances are it won't leave for Disney Plus in a few months. But just in case..you might want to watch it if you haven't yet while you can!

Hello Charlie....

The Angels are back. Well, the new ones that are in the Elizabeth Bank's led remake of Charlie's Angels. Kristen Stewart, Naomi Scott, and Ella Balinska are taking on the mantels of the Angels from the Townsend Agency.

Side note. What's the deal with Naomi Scott? Does she need to be in every remake? She was in Power Rangers in 2017 and most recently the remake of Aladdin. Add this one to the list and that makes three movies where she has been cast in a remake/reboot of an old TV show or movie. Is she the go-to actor for this now?

The Angel's land in theaters November 15th.

Don't forget to check out the Geek Freak of the Week Podcast! New episode is up now. I sat down with a Disney Dork and it's all about the Aladdin remake. Until next week...I'm Maz and that's the Geek Freak of the Week!
