When You Return To O-Town, Pick Up The Geek Freak of the Week!

Hello fellow geeks, nerds, and dorks. After a week off the Geek Freak of the Week is back recharged and ready to go. In reality, I was out because I had my wisdom teeth removed. I learned a few things

  1. Eating pineapple before the procedure really helped in the healing process because I didn't swell up. Seriously, look it up. Pineapple works wonders!
  2. If you ask to keep the teeth the nurses will give you a strange look.
  3. Make sure you take more than one day off of work. Sleep and rest is the key!
  4. Oh...and the tooth fairy didn't show up either...I was robbed!

All that aside, I should have had them out this week because guess what is now steaming on Netflix?

Now that song will be stuck in your head...that's okay, it's a catchy one. Rocko, Heffer, Filbert, and the Bigheads are back in an all new special on Netflix. Re-live the 90's this weekend. It's okay, no one will judge you.

In this weeks issue we take a look at what's in store for the big Arrowverse Crossover Crisis on Infinite Earths, who will be directing the next Venom film, and a look at both Titans and a new Wonder Woman film from the DCAMU. You ready? Let's geek out.....

Infinite Crisis Dates Will Seem Infinite

OK night nerds. In a shocking turn of events it seems this years epic crossover on the CW will span into 2020. Here's the lineup of the shows, dates, and times for Crisis on Infinite Earths

  • Supergirl- Sunday, December 8th starting at 8pm
  • Batwoman- Monday, December 9th starting at 8pm
  • The Flash- Tuesday, December 10th starting at 8pm

and then we jump into 2020

  • Arrow- Tuesday, January 14, 2020 starting at 8pm, followed by:
  • Legends of Tomorrow- Tuesday, January 14, 2020 starting at 9pm

You know what's going to happen....at the end of Flash, our Scarlet Speedster will disappear in a "crisis" as the future newspaper article states and then we have to wait a whole month for the resolution. It seems the non superhero suits over at CW know how to tease us. Well, GOOD JOB!

Speaking of teasing...there was a LOAD of news regarding the crossover.

Holy live-action-for-the-first-time, Batman!

Kevin Conroy, the iconic voice behind the dark knight in the animated series from 1992-2006 is going to be making his live action debut in Crisis on Infinite Earths. He will be playing the future and older version of Bruce Wayne. Hmm...where have we heard this one before? Also mixed in to this plot point, Black Lightning is FINALLY added to the Arrowverse. Well, sort of. The show itself won't be apart of the crossover but the character of Black Lightning will be in this. Yah...it's confusing but still this confirms that at least on one f the infinite earths Black Lightning is part of the Arrowverse.

There's also a rumor going around that Grant Gustin aka The Flash will be suiting up as the Blue Lantern from the 2009 "Blackest Night" story line as one of the many version of The Flash's coming to save the multi-verse. Right now it's just a rumor but DAMN that be awesome to see.

Is it December yet?

The Symbiot is Precioooousss

Venom 2 has found it's next director. In a shocking turn of events the one and only Andy Serkis aka Gollem, aka Supreme Leader Snoke, aka Caesar, is going to helm the ship for the next installment.

Serkis is relatively new to the director's chair only making his debut back in 2017 with the movie Breathe. The sequel is expected to be released October 2, 2020. I'm sure you're asking "will Carnage be the main villain or will they use this opportunity to set up a crossover with the MCU? " Time will tell meat-bags! Here's hoping they go with these titles:Ultimate Venom or Venom: Absolute Carnage

Titans, Suite Up!

It took a season but the Titans have assembled...oh wait, can't say that. The Titans have...UNITED! The second season trailer for DC Universe's Titans arrived on Wednesday afternoon and there's a lot in it.

  1. We get introduced to Iain Glen's (Ser Jorah in Game of Thrones) version of Bruce Wayne
  2. Titans enemy number one, Deathstroke has arrived
  3. There are some new additions. Superboy and his super-dog Krypto are now in the mix.

I have one question...I thought the first season ended with Dick being "corrupted" by Raven's father, Trigon. Hence the dream he had of Batman going on a killing spree and he had to stop him. Did that get resolved or did I miss something at the end? Maybe these are clips from that dream still. Anything is possible. but no need to worry...DCUniverse is still a thing so rush to get HBO Max just yet!

Trace Your Bloodline

After a few months of teases, we finally got a trailer for the next DCAMU (DC Animated Movie Universe) movie. Seriously, this is the DCEU we all want. Shameful plug time....I even did an episode about it on the Geek Freak of the Week Podcast, take a listen here!

If you're wondering where this movies takes place in the whole DCAMU continuity, it's set before the events of Justice League: War (2014). Rosario Dawson, who has voiced Wonder Woman in the previous films, will lend her voice for this origin story. I know, I know, you might be thinking "so this is just the live action Wonder Woman in the animated world". You're half right. In this story we are going to meet Steve Trevor and he will end up crash landing on Themyscira but the villains are different and its more of a rescue mission type movie as someone she knows has fallen into the hands of a criminal organization. Watch the trailer and judge for yourself.

Wonder Woman: Bloodlines comes out this October.

Don't forget to check out the Geek Freak of the Week:Podcast. Current episode is all about Harry Potter so take a listen you muggles! New episode will be out this coming week regarding movies and how we critique them. Yeah, we're getting into some deep-thought territory now! Until next week...I'm Maz and that's the Geek Freak of the Week!
