New Batwoman, Who Dis?
There's a new bat in town! Back in May we learned that Ruby Rose, who portrayed Kate Kane/Batwoman on CW's Batwoman was hanging up the cowl after one season. On Wednesday, DC announced the next woman to take on the mantle of the Scarlet Knight. God Friended Me alum Javicia Leslie is going to be suiting up as the next Batwoman for season two but NOT as Kate Kane. This will be an entirely new character named Ryan Wilder, who will also be a lesbian keeping with the shows LGBTQ story line and history for the character.
Batwoman returns for season 2 in January 2021.

The Boys (and girls) are coming back. So, it's a teaser but the song choice is what makes me excited. Who DID start the fire for this feud? The Seven or the Boys? Debatable for both sides. One thing is for sure though - the blood, swearing, and explosions are also making their return for season two .
Amazon Prime Video's The Boys returns this September.
Butcher Is Back On The Block
Sticking with The Boys for a moment. Fan favorite character Butcher is getting a mini film that will debut on Prime Video and stream along side the the second season of The Boys. Okay then...guess we will need to watch to see what that is all about.
The Academy is Open
Of course this would happen. In the latest Geek Freak of the Week Podcast I said that we are still waiting for a trailer for the second season of The Umbrella Academy. Since the show was premiering July 31st time is running out. What happens the very next day after I post that episode? A trailer arrives! Sigh. Okay, rant done. Ready to back in time? The adoptive misfits of the Umbrella Academy are back to save time and prevent the world ending...again. Take a look!
Going to Gotham
We don't have a movie yet but a spin off series is coming. Set in the same universe as the upcoming film The Batman, which arrives in theaters in October 2021, HBO Max will be developing a spin off series focusing on the Gotham PD. This story is still developing.

Also developing out there is some news regarding the future of Power Rangers. There's are rumors that Hasbro (who owns the franchise) is getting ready to split from Toei, the Japanese company that produces the Super Sentai series which Power Rangers gets their action footage from. As of Friday July 10th, 2020 there is no word from Hasbro, Nickelodeon, or Toei regarding or addressing these rumors in anyway. I have many google alerts ready! So for that, stay tuned.
